Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form an agreement between you and CalcuGrid ("we", "us"), covering your use of the website at calcugrid.com and everything on it (the "Service"). If you do not accept these Terms, please do not use the Service.

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the moment you use the Service is the version that applies. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. What the Service is

CalcuGrid provides free, browser-based calculators covering topics such as salary after tax, processing fees, running costs and unit conversion. The defining characteristics of the Service are:

• Client-side. Calculations execute in your browser. We do not receive, store or process the figures you enter.
• No account. There is nothing to register for, and no subscription, licence key or payment.
• Informational. Outputs are estimates produced from published reference data and the assumptions stated on each page.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use automated means to scrape, mirror or bulk-download the Service in a way that places unreasonable load on it, or to republish its content as your own;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service, its hosting infrastructure or any connected system;
• interfere with the Service's operation, including by circumventing security measures or introducing malicious code;
• use the Service in breach of any applicable law, or to facilitate tax evasion, fraud or any other unlawful act;
• remove, obscure or interfere with any advertising, attribution or legal notice displayed as part of the Service.

Reasonable, good-faith use — including reading pages, using calculators and linking to them — is welcome and needs no permission.

5. Intellectual property

The design, text, layout, code and compiled datasets that make up the Service are owned by CalcuGrid or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may:

• view, use and print pages for your own personal or internal business use;
• link to any page, and quote short extracts with clear attribution and a link back to the source page.

You may not reproduce substantial portions of the Service, or systematically extract and reuse its datasets, without written permission.

The underlying facts — published tax rates, statutory thresholds and similar reference data — are not owned by anyone and are drawn from primary government sources cited on the relevant pages. Our compilation, structure and presentation of those facts is what is protected.

6. Third-party content and advertising

The Service displays third-party advertising and may link to external websites. We do not control, endorse or accept responsibility for third-party content, products or practices. Your dealings with any advertiser or linked site are solely between you and that party. Advertising is subject to our Privacy Policy.

7. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Service available and its reference data current, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may add, change, suspend or discontinue any calculator, dataset or page at any time without notice — including when the underlying law changes and a calculator would otherwise produce an outdated result.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that the Service or its outputs will be accurate, complete, current, error-free or uninterrupted.

Reference data changes — legislatures amend rates mid-year, and figures published here may lag those changes. You are responsible for verifying currency and applicability before relying on any output.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, savings, data, or business opportunity, arising out of or connected with your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including any decision made or action taken in reliance on a calculated figure.

Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to one hundred pounds sterling (£100) or the equivalent in your local currency.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. If you are a consumer, these Terms do not affect your statutory rights.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CalcuGrid against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.

11. Governing law and general terms

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you retain the protection of any mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence.

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, are the entire agreement between us regarding the Service.
